5A02 為Al-Mg系防銹型鋁合金,不可熱處理強化。該合金的鎂含量較低,其塑性較高,成形良好,而強度較低,但比3A21合金的強度高。冷變形可以提高其強度,而塑性降低。合金的耐蝕性良好,適于在海洋環境中使用。合金的焊接性好。其切削加工性在退火狀態差,半冷作櫻花狀態可以改善切削加工性。
